Sagwa's First Christmas

Sagwa was confused. This was her first time in the USA. It was the holidays. What should she celebrate? Christmas? Hanuka? Kwanzaa? After much thinking, she decided Christmas was what she would celebrate. She wanted to climb the Christmas tree.

So, they bought a tree. It had a lot of colored lights on it. (red, yellow, blue, green and white) They put it up and added the decorations. Sagwa started climbing the tree. She knocked down ornaments. One, which was glass, broke. One, that played music, the batteries fell out. One, was plastic, it didn't break. She also knocked down the tree topper star. It broke. She was very sad but she didn't cry.

After that, she didn't climb very high. She stayed on the bottom 2 feet of tree. So, if anything dropped, it wouldn't break. Only plastic ornaments were on the bottom of the tree. She didn't notice the glass ornaments that were only 1 foot above her. One, fell on her head. She yelled OUCH and fell. It made her cry. Everyone rushed in asking what was wrong. Sagwa told them she fell off the tree and hurt herself. They saw the ornament that fell on her but luckily it didn't break. Just as lucky, Sagwa didn't break when she fell.

From then on, she didn't climb at all. She just slept under the tree.
